Two European luxury car brands will be equipped with Chery technology platform.
Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Automobile, personally drove a long-distance high-speed high-order intelligent driving live test. During the live broadcast, Yin Tongyue revealed that Chery Automobile will soon sign a technical platform cooperation agreement with two European high-end automobile brands.
"At present, two European high-end automobile brands want to use our platform, and one of them will sign an agreement with us," said Yin Tongyue, who will sign the agreement during his trip to Europe starting on April 16th.

According to informed sources, the cooperation partner is likely to be Stellantis Group, and the two European luxury brands that Chery is talking about are Maserati and Alfa Romeo. As the homologous luxury brands of Stellantis, Maserati and Alfa Romeo have launched large-displacement fuel supercars, but now they also need to speed up the electrification transformation to adapt to the trend of green transformation.
At present, Maserati has launched two pure electric models, covering sports cars and SUVs. According to the brand’s electric product plan, the pure electric sports car will be released this year, the pure electric supercar MC20 will be released next year, and a positioning pure electric vehicle will be launched in the future. Not long ago, Alfa Romeo also launched its first mass-produced pure electric vehicle.
Maserati and Alfa Romeo may intend to accelerate the launch of electric products in the global market through Chery’s technology to seize market share. The research and development speed of China’s leading automobile brands has been shortened to 18 months, and the efficiency has surprised western automobile manufacturers.
On the other hand, cooperation with multinational automobile companies may help Chery to go to sea. By cooperating with luxury car brands with a long history in overseas markets, domestic companies may be able to strengthen their understanding of the regulatory restrictions in various regions and the sales of high-end models.

In recent years, Chery’s export business has developed rapidly, and the proportion of export sales increased from 28% in 2021 to nearly half last year. In the first quarter of this year, Chery Group exported more than 250,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 40%.
At present, Chery’s main export destinations are underdeveloped markets such as Russia, Latin America and the Middle East, rather than relatively mature European countries. The above-mentioned people believe that if the rumors of cooperation with two Italian brands are true and the model is deep enough, it will provide reference experience for Chery to better fill the world map.
