The NPC Foreign Affairs Committee issued a statement!

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress issued a statement on the resolution on the incident involving unmanned airships passed by the US Senate.

On February 20, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress issued a statement in response to the so-called "resolution on the unmanned airship incident" passed by the US Senate. The full text is as follows:

The so-called "resolution on unmanned airship incident" recently passed by the US Senate wantonly hyped up the "China threat" and maliciously attacked and discredited China. This is another wrong act by the US side to distort the facts and confuse the audience in an attempt to put pressure on China after the House of Representatives passed a similar resolution.

As a responsible big country, China has always strictly abided by international law and respected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries. China’s civilian unmanned airship strayed into the airspace of the United States by mistake, which was an accident and accidental event caused entirely by force majeure. China has repeatedly informed the United States and introduced the relevant situation to the international community in a timely manner, demanding that the United States properly handle it in a calm, professional and restrained manner. The United States turned a deaf ear to China’s solemn position repeatedly stated, abused force and overreacted, which seriously violated the spirit of international law and international practice. The United States Congress deliberately incited opposition, created tension, and politicized, complicated and expanded accidents, which is a typical hegemonic and hegemonic act. Who is the world’s largest spy monitoring country, the United States is well aware, and the world has its own public opinion.

We strongly urge the US Congress to respect the facts, the principles of international law and the basic norms of international relations, immediately stop smearing China and avoid further interference and damage to Sino-US relations.
