Ministry of Education： China has built the largest language resource bank in the world, covering more than 120 languages and dialects.

Tian Lixin, director of the Department of Linguistic Information Management of the Ministry of Education, introduced at the meeting that the Ministry of Education and the State Language Committee started the China Language Resources Protection Project in 2015, and recorded and preserved the Chinese language resources in a multi-modal, holographic and standardized way, so that the Chinese language that has spanned thousands of years will last forever. The first phase of the project has completed the investigation and protection of more than 1,700 investigation points in all provinces of China, covering more than 120 domestic languages and dialects, and built the largest language resource database in the world.

Tian Lixin introduced that eight departments, including the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, initiated the development project of ancient Chinese characters and Chinese civilization, and comprehensively and systematically carried out research on ancient Chinese characters such as Oracle Bone Inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, bamboo slips and silks, innovating and transforming achievements, and serving the needs of the times. Up to now, the project has integrated the national advantages to build a collaborative innovation platform, and deeply explored the historical ideas and cultural values of ancient Chinese characters. The first batch of 17 universities and cultural and cultural institutions were selected, more than 420 experts and scholars participated in the project construction, deployed nearly 200 key research projects, and produced a series of important achievements.

Promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent language and culture, focus on digital empowerment, launch the national language resource service platform, and create more than 20 digital language services such as Chinese character information service and intelligent conversion system for simplified and complicated Chinese characters.

Up to now, the dissemination project of Chinese ideological and cultural terms has sorted out more than 1,100 ideological and cultural terms that reflect the core and essence of the Chinese nation’s discourse system, published more than 170 series of books such as Chinese Ideological and Cultural Terms, and formed a three-dimensional product system of "book+database". International copyright cooperation in 38 languages was carried out with 36 countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", and the engineering achievements were collected by more than 150 well-known libraries around the world.

Tian Lixin said that the soul of the country is transformed by literature and cast by literature.
