The Central Network Information Office resolutely cracked down on rumors and malicious marketing hype through the "Hu Mouyu incident"
CCTV News:According to "China" WeChat WeChat official account news, recently, the "Jiangxi student Hu Mouyu incident" continued to attract the attention of netizens, and related rumors on the Internet continued to ferment, seriously misleading public judgment and causing adverse social impact. In this regard, the network information department urged the website platform to earnestly fulfill the main responsibility of information content management, and severely cracked down on online opportunities to spread rumors and malicious marketing hype. Tik Tok, Tencent, Weibo, Aauto Quicker, Baidu, Bili Bili, Xiaohongshu and other key website platforms have carried out in-depth investigation and rectification, and accumulated 1,894 illegal and illegal accounts, resolutely curbing the momentum of bottomless rumors and speculation, and earnestly safeguarding a good network ecology. Some typical cases are reported as follows:
1. Fabricate the reasons for the bizarre disappearance. Since the incident, some online accounts have speculated on the reasons for Hu Mouyu’s disappearance for no reason, and fabricated online rumors at will, causing panic among the masses and stirring up opposing feelings. Some deliberately fabricated Hu Mouyu as a special blood type. For example, Baidu account "daring18425" said that "the school bought a lot of surgical equipment, and Xiao Hu was taken for research because he had panda blood". Some fabricated rumor information about Hu Mouyu’s murder through detailed description, which is very confusing and inflammatory. For example, Weibo account "7812608894" posted a post that "Hu Mouyu must have been deceived to the mountain, and then the murderer strangled his neck with a rope from behind while he was not paying attention, and then hung it on a tree to pretend to be suicide". Some maliciously speculated that Hu Mouyu’s organ was transplanted for sale, such as the Tik Tok account "hjd1475" posting the audio of "The doctor voiced that Hu Mouyu was transferred for organ transplantation". In addition, Aauto Quicker "China Senior Appraiser." Accounts such as WeChat "Xiaohuang Chat Entertainment" and Weibo "Happy Mango Meat" also concocted the so-called "many students in this school have disappeared" and "Hu Mouyu has been sterilized by the chemistry teacher"Rumor information, causing bad social impact.
2. Fabricate the progress of the incident investigation. In the search process of public security organs, some online accounts took advantage of the public’s high concern about the progress of the incident and fabricated the so-called "latest news of Hu Mouyu’s incident" to attract attention, bias the rhythm and mislead cognitive judgment. One typical example is that WeChat WeChat official account "Hundred Herbs Meet the Spring Breeze" released "The latest news of Hu Mouyu, the car was buried, and the underground passage of the laboratory was discovered in the back hill". Tik Tok’s account "Li Zuopeng from the Media" released a video of "Li Changyu, the top detective in China, has been involved in Hu Mouyu’s case". Aauto Quicker’s account "Northeast Panther Positive Energy" released a video called "Hu Mouyu found it, with incomplete organs, where did it go?". The accounts of WeChat "TT Chatting Gossip", Aauto Quicker "Wonderful Movie of Lao Liang" and Weibo "Going to the hospital to disperse people" also fabricated the remarks that "broken bones were found in the septic tank of the school", "white cloth was found on the second floor of the school" and "bloody clothes were found in the Woods on the back hillside of the school". These online rumors have no factual basis and are intended to disturb people’s hearts, which is not only not conducive to the investigation of the incident, but also causes great interference and is very bad in nature.
3. Identity of persons involved in the counterfeiting incident. Some online accounts pretend to be event-related personnel in various ways, taking the opportunity to spread false information. Among them, Baidu account "ilusions" called for help online, claiming to be Hu Mouyu himself, and has been kidnapped and imprisoned. Tik Tok’s "SSYG 800", "96222866030" and other accounts changed their personal signatures to "Sister Hu Mouyu" and "Cousin Hu Mouyu", posing as relatives of the parties concerned. Aauto Quicker’s "Uncle Hu Mouyu", "Brother Hu Mouyu" and "Dad Hu Mouyu" have published false videos many times by setting up new user avatars and changing user nicknames. There are also individual accounts posing as school chemistry teachers, posting videos that threaten family members’ privacy.
4. There is no hot spot for bottom-line speculation. Some online accounts deliberately take advantage of hot events, malicious marketing hype, misleading netizens. What is more prominent is that Aauto Quicker’s accounts such as "Tears Countercurrent" and "Mainlanders 998" associated "Hu Mouyu Incident" with other events for no reason, hyped it up and played up negative emotions. Tik Tok’s account "Yu Ge sees the world" and Xiaohongshu’s account "63E20" edited and released pictures, audio and video information of the parties and their families in batches, hyping the so-called clues of relatives and friends. Tik Tok’s account "Teacher Yigu" speculates on Hu Mouyu’s personal safety through superstition, and takes the opportunity to seek improper benefits.
The relevant person in charge of the Central Network Information Office said that after the Hu Mouyu incident, the majority of netizens were very concerned about the progress of the incident and the investigation. At the same time, some lawless elements fabricated rumors on the Internet without a bottom line and interfered with the trend of public opinion, which not only challenged the basic moral bottom line of society, but also violated the requirements of relevant laws and regulations. For such information and accounts, the network information department will never tolerate it and will continue to crack down. At the same time, it also appeals to the majority of netizens to improve their ability to distinguish, not to believe in rumors, not to spread rumors, to actively participate in supervision and reporting, and to actively provide relevant clues to jointly create a clean and honest cyberspace.
