The Polish government said it would not come forward to end the protest of truck drivers on the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Xinhua News Agency, Warsaw, November 16 (Reporter Zhang Zhang, Chen Chen) The Polish government said on the 16th that it would not come forward to end the protests held by Polish truck drivers on the border between Poland and Ukraine.

In order to protest the special treatment given by the European Union to Ukrainian transport enterprises, hundreds of Polish truck drivers began to hold protests at the border between Poland and Ukraine on the 6th of this month, resulting in a large number of trucks being blocked at the border crossings between the two countries.

According to a report by Botong News Agency on 16th, Andrzej Adamcik, Minister of Infrastructure of Poland, told the media on the same day that the reasons that led Polish truck drivers to hold protests at the border between Poland and Ukraine were either in Ukraine or in the European Union, and the Polish government would not come forward to end the protests. He held consultations with officials of the European Commission in Warsaw on the 15th, followed by talks between the EU, Poland and Ukraine.

Radio RMF Poland reported on the 16th that a spokesman of the European Commission said that as a member of the European Union, Poland has an obligation to ensure the smooth flow of border crossings, and the EU asked the Polish government to solve the border protests, otherwise it may punish Poland.

At present, no progress has been made in the negotiations between the government of Poland and Ukraine on this issue.
