The rumors of layoffs are extremely high, and the salary in November is as usual. The truth remains to be revealed.

Recently, the domestic automobile industry has set off an unprecedented price war storm, and many well-known enterprises have fallen into operational difficulties. First, Weimar Automobile and other car companies declared bankruptcy, and then BYD demanded a substantial price reduction from suppliers. This series of events undoubtedly intensified the competitive situation in the industry. Subsequently, Nezha Auto was also exposed to massive layoffs, employees’ salaries were not paid on time, and there was a problem of arrears with suppliers. This series of negative news shrouded the whole industry in a haze.

In this context, the ultra-Vietnamese car, a joint venture between Baidu and Geely, has also fallen into the storm of layoffs. According to a number of netizens who broke the news on the pulse platform, Extreme Vietnam (formerly Jidu Automobile) is carrying out large-scale layoffs, and the proportion of layoffs is even as high as 40%. There are even rumors that the company’s internal executives will also leave. This news quickly fermented on the Internet, causing widespread concern and discussion.

However, for this rumor of layoffs, Extreme Auto did not immediately respond. Employees who have the motivation of headhunting companies said that the actual layoff ratio is only 5%, which is far lower than the 40% rumored by the Internet. At the same time, the internal staff of Extreme Vietnam also said that they had not heard of the news of layoffs, and the salary in November had been paid normally. The emergence of these voices has made this layoff storm even more confusing.

As the product of deep cooperation between Geely Holding Group and Baidu Group, Jiyue Automobile has been positioned as a high-end intelligent automobile robot brand since its birth. However, despite its strong background and resource support, the market performance of Extreme Yue Automobile is not as bright as expected. When its first model was released, CEO Xia Yiping once boasted that he would achieve the goal of monthly sales of over 10,000 vehicles in 2024. However, the reality has given a heavy blow to Ji Yue.

According to statistics, the average monthly sales volume of Jiyue Automobile in the first half of this year was less than 500 vehicles, far below market expectations. Although the sales volume exceeded the thousand-vehicle mark for the first time in May, it then declined rapidly. By the end of November, the total sales volume of Jiyue Automobile was only 14,000 vehicles, which was far from the monthly sales target proposed by CEO Xia Yiping. However, it is worth noting that since June, the sales of ultra-Vietnamese cars have indeed shown a certain growth trend.

In the face of fierce market competition and ever-changing consumer demand, it is obvious that Extreme Yue Automobile needs to make greater efforts to adjust its strategy and enhance its product competitiveness to meet the challenges. However, in this price war storm, it is still unknown whether Extreme Vietnam Automobile can successfully break through and achieve steady growth in sales.
