The first phase of the project has completed the investigation and protection of more than 1,700 investigation points in all provinces of China, covering more than 120 domestic languages and dialects, and built the largest language resource database in the world.

Tian Lixin introduced that eight departments, including the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, initiated the development project of ancient Chinese characters and Chinese civilization, and comprehensively and systematically carried out research on ancient Chinese characters such as Oracle Bone Inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, bamboo slips and silks, innovating and transforming achievements, and serving the needs of the times. Up to now, the project has integrated the national advantages to build a collaborative innovation platform, and deeply explored the historical ideas and cultural values of ancient Chinese characters.
